The type of this battery is – GEL, so its service life can range from 5 to 8 years, due to the architectural features of this type of battery. The difference from AGM batteries is the use of a special gel as a separator between the plates, which retains the electrolyte inside. If the battery is not used for an extended period, we recommend fully charging and discharging it at least once per season to prevent sulfation (clogging of the plates and loss of battery capacity). In addition, if the battery is not used for a long time but remains connected to a UPS, it will lose its charge due to its own internal consumption and the UPS’s power consumption. To prevent excessive discharge, we recommend disconnecting the terminals from the battery if it is not used for an extended period.
